This outfit i designed was at first inspired by the original sky colour blue. i then created it to resemble airline kinda clothes for the air stewardesses. i decided to match it with black coz i wanted to play safe with colour. the outfit is made up of a two-sided (reversible)waistcoat and a skirt. on the waistcoat i made a cut, next to the waistline, that was complicated to stitch(you have no idea!) and i still matched the black and blue fabrics on both sides.
on the skirt i made it black but added some detail by shirring(shirring is what has been done to the blue part you see on the skirt) using the blue fabric. the good thing about the skirt i that you can wear it two ways: blue shirred part on the right side or the blue shirred part at the front.
overall,the whole outfit
can be worn in more than 4 different ways.
im glad of the fact that i used the bridal satin fabric which was really difficult to handle(again, you have not the slightest idea!) but in the end i made it and even changed some peoples attitude towards satin fabric on casual wear:)
this outfit is both casual and can be worn to the office on a dress down Friday.. yes,i said it! you can wear it to the office:-D
